Fenwick came into my life permanently in July of 2000. He was the pet of my ex-boyfriend, who had Fenwick in his home for four years, but decided when he broke up with me in June of 2000, that he didn't want Fenwick anymore and asked me to take him in. I had just lost one cat, Scully, in March of 2000, and the loss devastated me and I was not sure if I was going to be taking in anymore cats at the time, but I was worried where Fenwick would end up, and I did love him, so I took him into my life. Since then, I've seen some wonderful changes take place in his behavior. When Fenwick was with my ex, he used to be absolutely terrified of the vacuum cleaner, and if he heard or even saw it, he would panic and run under the bed and stay there for a very long time. As you can see from the photos below (where Cosmo makes a sneak appearance), Fenwick is just casually lying down and watching the vacuum cleaner while its left on loudly and facing him. Amazing isn't it? Fenwick has grown to trust me fully in less than a year. The ex, well... he insisted upon keeping Fenwick's litter box... yes he sure did. I have to say, with a trade off like that, lose the cat, but keep the litter box, Fenwick is so much better off being with me.
